What furniture is provided?

We provide 12 tables and 60 chairs in the Common Room, and if you also include the Common Pavilion, an additional 8 tables and 40 chairs.

There is no additional charge for these items.

Do you have AV?

In the Common Room we have a screen, projector, surround sound, and ability to plug your phone into the music jack.

If you need to use the AV, you will need to supply your own cords (ie HDMI) and laptop

The Common Pavilion has a port for your music, and surround sound. This space is not suitable for a screen and projector due to lighting, but TV screens and stands would well.

Both spaces have hand held microphones that can be supplied.

There is no additional charge for these items.

Can we have live music?

We completely understand you would love live music at your wedding. Up to 5pm, we allow live music, after permission from the Community Manager. However, from 5pm onwards no live music is permitted due to the proximity to residents. However, the sound system is developed so music can be played within the spaces, all you need to supply is your phone/ipad etc.

How long should I hire the space for?

How long is a piece of string? All weddings are required to hire the spaces for a minimum of 10 hours. This is to provide time to decorate the space, hold the ceremony and/or reception, and also remove all the decorations. You may find you need more time, which you are more than welcome to book.

Can I get married at Camperdown Commons?

Of course! You can get married in the farm, demonstration garden or the Common Spaces, it is completely up to you.

Do I have to set up myself?

Acre staff will set up all furniture for you. However, any decorations etc need to be organised by yourself.

I’m hiring the Common Room or Common Pavilion, is the courtyard included?

If you are only hiring the Common Room or Common Pavilion, the courtyard is not included in the hire. This is a ‘buffer’ space between two separate events.

The courtyard is included if you hire both the Common Pavilion and Common Courtyard for the duration of your event.

Can I drop off items the day before?

Due to our limited storage, we cannot accept any items outside of your hire time without prior approval.

Can I leave items to pick up the next day?

We can consider this on a case by case basis, but this is dependent on other bookings we have on.

Do you have disabled access?

Yes, the whole site is disabled friendly, with a disabled parking spot on Pidcock Street.

Can you provide recommendations for florists etc?

Absolutely, we work with some amazing businesses who know our spaces really well. So, let us know you want the contacts and we can help.

Is there a time my wedding has to finish?

We are required that the Common Spaces are vacated by 9.45pm due to our proximity to our neighbours.

Can we supply our own catering?

Our food and beverage onsite partner is acre. They will provide all food and beverage options for your event. There is no minimum spend within the Common Spaces. If you would like to provide your own wedding cake, there is a $30 charge per cake.

How do we secure the space?

We need you to fill in a booking form, and you will then be invoiced for the room hire. Payment via EFT or credit card is required maximum one week after invoice is received to confirm the space. All food and beverage provided by acre will require payment on the day.

Do you have parking onsite?

We do not have any available parking onsite. However, Newtown Train Station is only an 8 minute walk away, and Parramatta Road has a large number of buses that go down it, with a bus stop only one block away from Camperdown Commons.

If you or your guests need to drive, there is timed street parking, or a parking station 6 minutes away with a flat daily rate.
