farm

It’s not easy to find productive green space in the city, somewhere you can sink your
feet in the soil and learn all about where your food comes from and how it’s grown.

That’s why we are thrilled to be the locale for a real, working ecological urban farm. Following a year of soil preparation and testing, urban farming specialists and educators Pocket City Farms have turned the former bowling greens into a 1200m2 market garden. It is accompanied by a 180m2 community food forest, a chicken coop, a greenhouse and a community composting program.

The vegetable and herb crops, grown using organic and ecological methods, are now flourishing and making their way onto plates at Acre and into the homes of the local community via the farm stall.

You can keep up to date with Pocket City Farms on their Instagram and Facebook , and you can sign up to their email newsletter.

THE CHICKEN COOP

Five feathered friends have happily settled into their new home on our farm.

The girls were rescued by NSW Hen Rescue from a cage egg factory farm, and nursed back to health by their foster carer, Sol. We're looking forward to enjoying their company, their poop and their love of eating pests and scratching soil.

The Chicken Coop is located at the far end of the Lawn near the Kids Play Space, be sure to stroll by with the family and say hello to the girls!
