Let the kids explore and create in the kids’ playspace at Camperdown Commons

Sydney’s inner west has a new ‘backyard’ where children, families, carers and friends can let their imaginations take flight: in an interactive playspace and grassed area at Camperdown Commons.

When it came to reinvigorating the site, our vision for the playspace was to create an area accessible to kids of all ages - where they could engage in safe, imaginative, unstructured play.

Our vision was brought to life by Stanmore-based, award-winning landscape architecture and design team at Outhouse Design.

Referencing the old in more ways than one

The childrens’ area references the old in more ways than one. The majority of elements used in construction were made from 100% recycled, repurposed materials. Great care was taken to ensure that careful consideration was given to safety, with carefully selected logs, boards, hollows and wheels. In addition, a number of elements incorporated into the design pay homage to the site’s history as a bowling club.

Spend time with family and friends on the community lawn, or enjoy a snack or a meal on the decked area while the kids explore and have fun!
