ABOUT US
A unique Inner West hub that provides indoor and outdoor spaces for a variety of dining experiences and good times or to host your next event.
Providing plenty of open air and green space it is a place where everyone can gather to relax or celebrate, grab a bite and a drink
or attend a workshop in an urban oasis in the city. Also home to a working urban farm providing fair food, education and fresh produce, by Pocket City Farms.
Formally Camperdown Bowling Club, the site was revitalised by Canterbury-Hurlstone Park RSL in consultation with Inner West Council.
The Green space was retained, and the site now offers a variety of relevant offers to its community.
Since opening in 1947 as a place to gather and belong, CHP RSL has grown
from one place to many, as we evolve with the needs of the community.

From June 2021 as we reach our 5th Birthday, Camperdown Commons continues to provide the Community with recreational spaces to gather, relax, experience and learn, providing; a café ‘THE COMMONS container’, unique spaces for ‘functions & events’, community spaces for hire ‘THE COMMONS spaces’, urban farm ‘Pocket City Farms’; open green space; kids play space
A new ‘farm to table’ dining venue will be opening soon, as the site is reinvigorated with a ‘new experience’, and Camperdown Commons manages the sites hospitality operations.
With the restaurant, outdoor terraces and bar reopening dates & exciting news to be announced soon!
The original vision for the revitalised site was to create a facility that is accessible to all walks of life: a space where locals could meet, where community could access free and subsidised meeting spaces, participate in recreational programmes, savour open green space, engage with a working urban farm, and enjoy farm to table dining experiences.
“In the past 5 years, we have never wavered from that vision,”
- Mr Dean Thomas Company Secretary of Camperdown Project Pty Ltd and CEO of Canterbury Hurlstone Park RSL Club.
